Jessica CardinMy name is Jessica Cardin and I have lived in Suwanee for almost 20 years. My family has always had pets and I became passionate about animals at a young age. As a child, I spent almost every weekend at a family friend’s farm where I helped with the care of cows, horses, mules, chickens, dogs, and cats. During our free time we rescued abandoned pets and raised orphaned wildlife. My first job was at Suwanee Animal Hospital, where I was hired as a member of the kennel staff. A few months later, I was trained as a Veterinary Technician and continued to work there for about 3 years. Currently, I am a student at Georgia Perimeter College majoring in Art. Apart from spending time with pets, I love to draw, paint, craft, and sew and I might pursue a career in Illustration. I am, and always have been, completely devoted to all animals’ happiness, health, and comfort. I know how stressful boarding at a kennel can be for a pet, so I am very happy that, as a pet sitter, I can give my full attention and care to pets in their own home. I live with four wonderful pets:
Max was a neighbor who walked into our home 13 years ago and refused to go home. He is easy-going but has had medical problems his whole life. Max has diabetes, high blood pressure, detached lens in his left eye, and glaucoma in his right eye- he’s one tough kitty! His favorite thing to do is eat, although he is usually on a diet.
Daisy has also been with us for 13 years, after my mom found him during a rain storm. He is a male but, at that time, I wanted to name him Daisy. He has always been a real character and the center of attention. He still acts like a kitten to this day. Daisy Cat loves to give hugs, sing in the bathroom, and bother anyone who is working hard. Baby Bird is an albino cockatiel. I bought him as a baby about 7 years ago. He loves to have his neck rubbed and giving kisses. His favorite songs to whistle are the Andy Griffith theme song and Camp Town Races; he also says “babyyy bird”, “here kitty kitty!”, “goodnight”, and much more. Puppers is a cocker spaniel who I found at school almost two years ago. After no one claimed him, we decided to adopt him. We guess he is about eight years old but he still has a baby face. It’s been fun finding out all the tricks he knows- he does a twirl in mid jump when I say “trick” and jumps on my back when I’m on my hands and knees. He loves taking walks on the Suwanee trails. |
